No new news
Well, I have not been working on my beetle for a couple weeks. One weekend I was away on vacation to Alabama. This past weekend I was at my dad's. I do have some news though. My mom claims that I cannot work on cars in her garage or on her block. Due to this rule, which she neglected to tell me, I will be transporting my car to my dad's house. He has an extra garage in the back of his house that he will gladly allow me to use. So we are now working on cleaning out my dad's garage. It is packed with EVERYTHING you could imagine! My step mom told me that they were talking about getting a large dumpster to throw things away in. I love the idea! Well, I will keep updating everyone on my beetle as things get done. I did manage to pull out the headliner two weeks ago. I forget if I mentioned that or not, but it was fun. Give me color scheme ideas for her!

Day 1 - Interior takedown
So here's the rundown...There is no engine, no steering wheel, there's mold in the seats and top and floor, there really is no floor, the shifter will need redone, brakes too, the seats are torn out due to the no floor part, rust in the body and more to be found. My friends, Nick Little and Cody Baker, with my boyfriend, Justin Brinker, are all helping me to finish this project. I don't have a date set to finish it yet. I'm waiting to see how fast we can get parts and get some of it done before I set a date.
We started tearing the inside out today. I used a box knife to cut out the covering inside the top and the covering on the sunroof. We took out the door panels. We tore the cover off the passenger seat. The driver's seat is already out of it along with the bench portion of the back seat. We couldn't get the passenger seat out, but we're doing research on how to remove it. Nick, Cody, and I all tried kicking it. I found out that there is actually a lock under the seat and Cody is willing to stick his hand under the seat to find it. Good luck!
